
Big Mama's Spice Rub Pan-Fried Red Fish Recipe
Ingredients
- 3 x washed, scaled and cleaned red fish
- 1 x Tablespoon of Big Mama Spice Rub (add more if you like it extra spicy!)
- ½ lemon
- Salt & freshly ground black pepper
- Grab a large plastic container and add fish pieces tothe container
- Add 2 x large tablespoons of Big Mama spice rub to fish in the container
- Shake well to ensure the fish is well coated in Big Mama spice Rub
- Cut half a lemon and squeeze juice into the marinade
- Cover, and leave in fridge for at least 2-3 hours
Step Two: Cook the Fish
- Preheat oven to 190°C (170°C fan) / Gas 5.
- Prepare seasoned flour; Add paprika, black pepper, salt, and 'season all' to self-raising flour.
- Add fish pieces to the seasoned flour in a container and shake to ensure each piece of fish is coated.
- Heat olive oil or sunflower oil in a medium-sized frying pan over a medium heat.
- When the oil is hot enough to make the fish sizzle gently (but not smoking), add the fish.
- Remove each piece as it browns to a baking tray
- Add a baking tray to the oven and remove it after 10 minutes
